Cosmic Skies

As I’ve said in my previous’ posts, something is aligning in the stars.

Between October 20th – 22th the sky set to peak has Orionids Meteor Shower began. On November and December 3rd, 2017, The Super Moon occurred.

Tonight and just before dawn tomorrow, The Geminid Meteor shower is set to peak just around 9 pm tonight, it is best to view just after midnight. The Geminid is a meteor shower that is approx. 200 years old. It’s been known as the annual December light show since 1892. They occur when the Earth passes through a stream of dust and debris in space left behind by a comet or asteroid. For more info and visualization on the Geminid Meteor Shower you can view the video on SPACE.com

It was -15ºc this morning when I was heading to work, So, I can’t imagine how cold it will be tonight until dawn tomorrow. So if you are planning to watch the meteor shower be sure to bundle up, dress warm, and grab yourself and sip on some tee! If you don’t even wanna bother going out to watch you can view it live here provided by of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center around 6 p.m. EST

The meteors will radiate from the constellation Gemini, which is between the Taurus and Cancer constellation. Gemini is easy to spot and in order to find Gemini, look for the bright constellation Orion as Gemini is just over Orions right side.

You guys wouldn’t wanna miss this!

As The Rush Comes

Of course I had to dedicate a post to the greatest fighter of all time, Georges St.Pierre.

As you all know he has made an extraordinary come back after almost 4 years of retirement. Georges decided to take time off when he announced his retirement in 2013 as the Welterweight champion. Came back to fight Michael Bisping on November 4th, 2017 and became the new Middleweight Champion. Along with one of my other favourite fighters, Conor Mcgregor, GSP is another MMA fighter in the UFC to have hold 2 championship belts in 2 different weight classes. Unfortunately GSP withdrew his Middleweight title due to his health. Growing up I always had an interest with “fighting” as Muay Thai fights were always put on the tv in my house lol. GSP is one main reason why I became a fanatic of UFC and all combat sports. He was already “MMA’s GOAT” before UFC 217 showcased that.

Who is GSP?

Georges “Rush” St.Pierre

34 years old

From Quebec, Canada

Former UFC Middleweight Champion and Former Welterweight Champion

Professional Record of  26-2

Wins

  • 8 TKO
  • 6 Submission
  • 12 Decision

Losses

  • 1 TKO
  • 1 Submission

Georges is one of the most classiest, and respectful athletes I’ve come across. He shows aggressive passion, great sportsmanship, and respect for this sport, to and for his opponents and their team after every fight, whether it be a win or a loss. GSP finds a way to improve himself to be faster and stronger in whatever is coming next. GSP made his UFC debut at UFC 46: Supernatural in 2004, where he defeated a highly ranked fighter, Karo Parisian by unanimous decision. GSP is a fast striker, he’s efficient, and disciplined. His style incorporates Wrestling, Boxing, Kyokushin, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai. Rankings of having 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate, 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With a striking percentage of 54% and take down percentage of 74%.

I was going to tell you what fights were my favourite, but honestly, I can’t even chose, lol. Each fighter he faces, his performance just get’s better and better. BUT – If I had to choose, one of my favourite GSP fights are UFC 56: VS Sean Sherk, no doubt man, I believe that was his peak. From what I know of, it is available to watch on UFC.TV or the UFC app if you have a UFC fight pass. If you don’t want to achieve UFC fight pass you can start a free trial. You will really see his drive, and what he is capable of when watching his fights.

I stand with you

This piece isn’t up for discussion. It’s my personal feelings and just straight f*cking facts. That’s all.

I’ve seen a lot of controversy over rape culture and I don’t believe “rape culture” should even be categorized as anything. Rape culture shouldn’t even exist, period. But tragically, it does.

There are so many attributes I can elaborate on in this piece, and lately here is rape culture being a bigger thing than ever, having it blow up than it has before now that celebrities are coming forward with rape culture in Hollywood.

This issue has been going on since the beginning of time and it is serious. All victims, and their situations are just as important as others. Regardless of whoever you are, whatever you are, whoever you do, whatever you do, and whoever you wear and whatever you wear. No one deserves to be a victim.

In my opinion, it should be educated. But, we shouldn’t have to teach others to know that act of rape culture and no consent isn’t right. What about this and this act makes it right?

When, No means a straight f*cking no. Being pushed away means get the f*ck off. Or when a elder comes on to a minor. What makes that right or give you the right to go ahead with this act?

In this case. Silence, which is highly taken advantage Is also a NO. It also a sign of fear.

Let’s not forget those who have taken action and came forward to a higher power, who we rely on for safety and support, and they don’t care enough to give it to us. I mean who else or what else has to be endure in this world to see that serious issues just like this need to change and action needs to be taken.

I have been a victim before. This is the first time I’ve publicly said that out loud, and I don’t give a f*ck because, I know others have been and I believe many people I know have had too. The violation of the comfort and security of my own body, my privacy. Feeling powerless, pushed, pressured and obligated to do something I don’t want to.  Of course that has shaped me in ways I couldn’t explain. I can’t even begin to explain the horrid impact this has on a person.

Not only that but let’s talk about sexism here, why does a women’s confidence with their bodies and themselves or anything in regards to women and their sexuality classify as “slutty” or “their fault” in rape culture or just in general?

Never less, why do women knowing this issue is not one to play around with victimize and accuse men as sexual predators? Putting innocent people in these serious situations. Another reason for others to be more afraid to come forward or for authorities to put this problem aside as if it is nothing.

I have a platform, and I have no problem taking that advantage. I am speaking on behalf of girls, boys, men, and women around the world who don’t have the power, voice or are too afraid to come forward. For Women in countries where rape culture happens everyday. Whose rights, of their lives, souls, body, and voices aren’t ever heard. We all have rights

You’ve all been heard. You aren’t alone and you’re loved.

Hurricane Harvey

During the weekend and this upcoming week, Texas was hit with Hurricane Harvey. Many left with no electricity, and billions of dollars worth of damages were sustained. Many families, and animals have lost their homes, and are struggling to evacuate. The strong winds and heavy rains from the hurricane have also impacted the Caribbean and Latin America.

I would advise not to donate to the American Red Cross.

Here’s why – Why we need new Humanitarian relief

Other organizations/charities you can donate too.

Mayweather VS Mcgregor

Mayweather VS Mcgregor — Saturday, August 26th 2017 on PPV: What makes one a great fighter?

I wanted to talk about the fight, and also bring some light into what makes a someone a great fighter/athlete. I feel like a lot of people miss the fact that this whole fight is legendary, F*ck the money and the negative press. It’s about all the preparation, the work, drive, and dedication for this fight to happen. The risks, and challenges that have been made by both athletes and their team.

I am not a professional, but I am pretty knowledgeable about MMA, I do follow the sport more frequently than other sports. I took the time to do my research on both, sports, and athletes. Read up and watched on interviews, and press conferences. I asked you guys, my readers, your opinion on this fight and have also discussed more things way beyond this particular fight to help me reflect and generate a good piece for this topic (thank you all for your input) — but more along the lines of all the important attributes that make one a great fighter/athlete.

“The Notorious” Conor Mcgregor.
29 years old.
From Dublin, Ireland
Reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, and former UFC Featherweight Champion.
21-3
Floyd “Money” Mayweather JR.
40 years old.
From Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States.
12 time World Champion, 5 different weight classes
49-0
Maybe Conor should’ve stayed in his lane, stay fighting in his savage game and nothing more beyond that. You can’t deny his hard ambition, neither does Mayweather. Look where he’s guiding Mcgregor, to him. He’s challenging someone who hasn’t actually had much experience with Mayweather’s choice of combat sport, where he clearly specializes in. Conor is here training hard and pursuing this craft in order for this fight to happen for not only everyone who initiated this fight but for himself and his build up for greatness. They brought in two beautiful combat sports and two fighters who clearly have the same desire with different creativity and strategies that make themselves great. These two are very talented and legendary fighters. Mayweather has been through the pressure before, Just like Conor, and any other fighter. But, for 21 years? Here he is, past his time, still trying to conquer, and give it all he has for himself, his team, the fans, and most importantly, Mcgregor.  I don’t doubt Floyd, he’s great at what he does, I feel like we all know what Floyd is capable of. But with Conor, doubt never crosses my mind with him, or with this fight. He is a different level, and I feel like a lot of you don’t even know what Conor is capable of. Then again, at the end of the day, we’ll see on Saturday, August 26th. You will really see how all their training, and hard work shaped them into the great fighters that they are, and how It’ll play out for the both of them in the boxing ring.
Good luck to the two extraordinary fighters. I encourage everyone to order and watch the fight. Saturday night is going to be historical.

I am Team Mcgregor all the way. Win or lose.

“I’ve fought many fighters with different styles. There have been plenty of guys who talked a lot of trash, but when its all said and done, I came out victorious”

– Floyd Mayweather

“And when it’s all said and done, you know what? I’m gonna feel a little bit sad. Because you should have all kept your mouths shut. You should have left me over on that other game where I’m from, that more ruthless game where we bounce heads off the canvas and drill them into the floor. You should have left me where I was. Because this man is not on my level. He’s not even a quarter of the man I am. So, we’re gonna see, you’re all going to eat your words. ”

– Conor Mcgregor

Why I started a blog

First off, I would like to thank everyone for checking out my blog!

Thank you to those for your love, support, and kind words. I appreciate all of the love and great feedback I’m already getting in the beginning of it all!

I, of course, stated why I created this blog in my About me section. But I wanted to go more in depth with it to show you all my main reason’s and focus for my blog.

I’m a person who feels so deeply. I started writing to enhance my writing skills, but mainly to open up to myself about things I was afraid to open up to others and just let some steam off. I started to gain a passion for writing seeing how my thoughts, and experiences has helped others around me. I wanted to start one for the longest time, but of course had my doubts about it. Thanks to a really good friend of mine, I just went out and did it.

My writings involves pieces of my own knowledge, thoughts, opinions, experiences, and insights of the world. I believe we all at one point face the same feelings in all of our everyday challenge with life. I created this not only for me, but for others. To get in touch with them, touch base on REAL issues that we have going on in this world or any issues we all face personally. I did this in hopes that we can empower each other and be better for the world and ourselves.

Feel free to stick around and check up on my blog. I will notify whenever there is a new upcoming post! Leave me a message, ask for advice, questions, or chat with me!

I look forward to going on this venture with you guys! Thank you again for your love and support.
